Minor Oral Surgeries

When it comes to minor oral surgeries, such as extractions and wisdom teeth removal, we are here to help. Getting a tooth removed can seem scary, but in reality, with current dental and medical technology, you will not be subject to pain.

Tooth Extraction

We are committed to doing anything we can to save your tooth and preserve your smile, but in some cases, we may need to extract your tooth. This occurs when the tooth is so damaged, diseased, or decayed that we cannot fix it. During a tooth extraction, we will numb your gums and mouth completely. Then, we will use a dental tool called an elevator to loosen the tooth. When the tooth is pulled, you may feel pressure, but you will not feel pain.

After the extraction is complete, you may have some mild discomfort around the area. This can be helped with ice packs and over the counter pain medications.

Wisdom Teeth

Unlike our other adult teeth, wisdom teeth do not come in until later and life and can be extremely disruptive to your teeth and mouth. In many cases, people simply do not have room for their wisdom teeth to push through their gums. When this is the case, they can become impacted or may grow in at odd angles. This is bad for your gums and can result in an incredibly painful bite. It can also shift your remaining teeth and make your smile crooked.

As you get older, it is important to see a dental professional about your wisdom teeth. With a series of simple X-rays, we will be able to tell if your wisdom teeth need to be removed. If they do, we will schedule the surgery for you. Unlike a regular tooth extraction, you will be sedated for this surgery.

If you need a regular tooth pulled or your wisdom teeth removed, we have you covered. We are committed to making the process as painless as possible and will do all we can to make sure that you feel safe and comfortable. Minor oral surgeries can seem complicated, but with our caring and professional team, you will feel good as new in no time at all.
